Overheating scoring profile

Ranks futures instruments where OI, Funding, volatility, and movement may show an overheated market state.

Disclaimer and responsibility

  • Scoring profiles are educational ranking tools, not financial advice and not a promise of profit.
  • Score helps decide which coins deserve manual review first, but it is not an automatic buy/sell signal.
  • Every trading decision remains the trader responsibility: position size, leverage, stop placement, exchange risk, liquidation risk, and the consequences of each trade.
  • A high Score can appear before a failed breakout, a false impulse, a weak pattern, or a news spike. Always check the chart, liquidity, higher-timeframe context, and risk before acting.

What the profile is for

  • Use this profile only for futures context. It ranks coins where derivatives-market pressure may be unusually high.
  • The profile is not automatically bearish or bullish. It shows where leverage, funding pressure, volatility, and movement deserve manual analysis.
  • It is useful when searching for crowded trades, squeeze candidates, late-trend risk, or markets where liquidation pressure may become important.

Components and weights

  • OI, weight 30%: open-interest change. It shows whether futures exposure is growing or shrinking.
  • Funding, weight 20%: current funding pressure. Extreme values can reveal an imbalance between long and short demand.
  • NATR, weight 20%: current normalized volatility.
  • P24, weight 15%: 24-hour price movement context.
  • VR, weight 10%: whether volume is elevated relative to normal.
  • TR, weight 5%: whether trade activity is elevated.

Recommended settings

  • OI: enabled, 12h change window.
  • Funding: enabled.
  • NATR: 1h, 14 candles.
  • P24: enabled.
  • VR: 1h, 100 candles.
  • TR: 1h, 100 windows.

How to read the score

  • High Score means the futures context looks crowded or stressed by several metrics.
  • Rising OI with strong price movement can mean new risk is entering the market. Whether that supports continuation or reversal depends on chart context.
  • Funding should be interpreted together with trend direction, OI, and levels. High funding alone is not enough.
  • If the profile is used on spot-only instruments, the main components are missing and the score is not meaningful.

What to check manually

  • Check whether OI grows with price or against price.
  • Check whether funding is actually extreme compared with normal values for that market.
  • Check whether price is near a level, liquidity zone, or round number.
  • Check whether the market is trending cleanly; overheated trends can continue longer than expected.

Weak conditions

  • Funding is high but OI does not confirm new exposure.
  • OI grows while price is flat and there is no clear level context.
  • Score is high after the whole move has already happened.
  • The trade idea has no logical invalidation point.
